Soup and Stews: Mexican Black Bean Chili

I love soups, stews and casseroles so the winter months are really enjoyable for me. We have 2 cookbooks that I received last year and planned on going through 1 recipe each week. I got through about 4-6 maybe, so I begin again this year.

We have the Williams Sonoma Soups cookbook (hardback) and the best of Cooking Light Soups and Stews (glossy magazine). The Mexican Black Bean chili came from the Soups and Stews magazine. Obviously it has black beans and ground beef, diced tomatoes, beef broth and various other spices. I also purchased some boxed corn bread mix and made half as directed and half with jalapeno slices added.
