And a successful solo weekend comes to a close
Allison left early Thursday morning and is scheduled to return today (Monday) around dinner time.
Thursday was easy enough with both kids in pre/play school for half a day and then naps. Friday we went to Monkey Joe's and while we only stayed an hour, it was well timed for the opening and then a quick run to the store (A Christmas Present for Allison no less) and then lunch. Squeezing the store in might have been a bit greedy or the lack of a snack because when we got home and ate we are just starting that no food and tired bit. We ate leftovers for lunch but we ordered the best pizza in the world from Rosario's in Concord. I ordered half cheese and half pepporoni and garlic. I believe that garlic will be a mandatory item on any pizza in the future, Sophia stopped eating her cheese slice to finish mine.
Saturday we were lucky enough to go to Carowind's with the Nick or Treat event. It never hurts that Allison used to work there and was on vacation with a few ladies that still do work there (THANKS JENNY).
Sunday was church and I pushed my luck to get lunch. Sophia loves to eat at the restaurant but I was too smart to know that 1 adult and 2 squirmy kids was not good, especially an uptight cranky old man like me :) So I chose someplace I wanted food from - The Little Dooey, the problem of course is that I didn't call ahead and we were putting an order in with about 4 other tables so we waited about 15-20 minutes. Now the food was delicious but I should have just gone through the Wendy's drive through and gotten home. Spicy barbecue and jalepeno hush puppies are not great food items for little kids that don't understand No, it's spicy!
Sunday night we spent with the grandparents as our habit has become, Pancakes and bacon for dinner :)
All in an all a great weekend which I think topped itself off this morning with the kids getting out the door for school in about 30 minutes without any TV or fussing. FANTASTIC.
